Why is ARC the best choice?
The system we use is called the
Farrow System and was designed by a
Yachtsman specifically to remove antifoul coatings from boats.
Introduced to the marine industry in 1998 it quickly developed a reputation for leaving the underlying hull free from damage and amazingly clean
Covered by worldwide patents, the key
to it is the mix of heated water and pumice. The energy from the heat
helps ease the old coatings from the hull, allowing much reduced
blast pressures so it's gentle yet efficient.
There are four different grades of
volcanic sand so we have infinite control over the heated mix and we can tailor
the system to suit your surface. Our method can be used to blast years of growth and
rust from steel plate but can be adjusted to gently take the label off an aluminium
drinks can. We have the precision control to tackle the job.

The Farrow System
This uses heat and low pressure to shoot the volcanic pumice at the surface like a low speed storm of darts. Upon contact they burst into thousands of sharp missiles which actually force their way BETWEEN the surface and the coating.

Conventional blasting
Abrasive dry blast systems work by hammering hard particles against the coating and substrate until the coating (and the abrasive as well) is pulverised and dispersed into the air. This high pressure destruction actually damages a portion of the substrate in order to remove the coating.

Systems using old fashioned sandblasting
are more likely to over blast your surface and damage it,
as
they have less control, take less time and use coarser blast media.

of people all over
the world trust this system. Not only
does it remove old antifoul, it can be used to restore antique furniture and restore
monuments.
The Farrow system was featured on BBC’s Tomorrow’s World television programme. It has proved itself to be the most advanced, versatile,
safe, efficient and effective system for the removal of a wide range
of coatings, from a variety of surfaces.
Which Coatings Can We Remove?
Marine antifoul, Varnish, Black Tar, Rust, Lead Paint Coating,
Oxidations, Grime, Scale, Graffiti, Soot, Iron Salts, Biological
Contaminations, Efflorescences, and Chewing Gum, leaving no damage or
embedment within the surface being cleaned. This cleaning method has
even removed ‘print from paper’.

Scientific teats have shown that the heat incorporated in the Farrow System is the key to the speed and precision of the cleaning process. The Farrow System process is patented throughout the world
, and no one else uses heat to clean in the way this system does.
